THE GENDER & POLITICS LAB
ABOUT THE LAB
The Gender & Politics Laboratory in the Department of Political Science at Memorial University brings together students and faculty working on research related to gender and politics. Directed by Dr Amanda Bittner, the lab is involved in research, teaching, and mentorship activities at Memorial and in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
The lab’s research activity to date incorporates comparative research on women’s participation in formal politics, the role of gender in political attitudes and the measurement of gender in survey research, and the role of motherhood (and parenthood) in politics.
The gender and politics lab is happy to participate in community projects related to issues of gender and politics. Please contact Dr. Bittner to discuss opportunities for research and collaboration.
